African Bean is a business in the catering industry that markets fast moving consumer goods (FMCG).

Delivery policy

Subject to availability and receipt of payment, requests will be processed within 3 working days and delivery confirmed by way of the designated courier company.

Export restriction

The offering on this website is available to Southern African Development Community (SADC) member countries only.

Return and Refunds policy

The provision of goods and services by African Bean is subject to availability. In cases of unavailability, African Bean will refund the client in full within 30 days. Cancellation of orders by the client will attract a 30% administration fee. If a product is faulty on arrival or order is incorrect, please contact us immediately. African Bean may request pictures of the products received. 

Customer privacy policy

African Bean shall take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information of users. For the purpose of this clause, “personal information” shall be defined as detailed in the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA). Payment options accepted

Payment may be made via Visa and MasterCard credit cards or by bank transfer into the African Bean bank account, the details of which will be provided on request.

Credit card acquiring and security

Credit card transactions will be acquired for African Bean via Payfast (Pty) Ltd who are the approved payment gateway. PayFast is a licensed System Operator with the Payments Association of South Africa (PASA). PayFast is fully PCI compliant and uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no credit card details are stored on the website. Users may go to www.payfast.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy.

Customer details separate from card details

Customer details will be stored by African Bean separately from card details which are entered by the client on PayFast’s secure site. For more detail on PayFast refer to www.payfast.co.za. 

Merchant Outlet country and transaction currency

The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. Transaction Currency is South African Rand (ZAR).

Responsibility

African Bean takes responsibility for all aspects relating to the transaction including sale of goods and services sold on this website, customer service and support, dispute resolution and delivery of goods.

Country of domicile

This website is governed by the laws of South Africa and African Bean chooses as its ‘domicilium citandi et executandi’ for all purposes under this agreement, whether in respect of court process, notice, or other documents or communication of whatsoever nature, 27 Southway Road, Kelvin, Sandton, 2090

Variation

African Bean may, in its sole discretion, change this agreement or any part thereof at any time without notice.

Discount Vouchers and Coupons

African Bean may release printed or digital discount vouchers/coupons [hereafter referred to as vouchers] from time to time. Such vouchers may be available through the website and/or from third-party websites, in magazines and other media.

Vouchers can be used for discounts on the site only as long as the voucher is valid. Given expiry dates cannot be moved.

Promotional vouchers

Promotional vouchers are issued at African Bean’s discretion. Users don’t have the right to promotional vouchers and can’t earn them. Promotional vouchers are issued with specific terms and conditions that regulate how and when they can be used.

A voucher can only be used against a purchase on the site when the purchase meets the terms and conditions as specified on the voucher.

A voucher can only be used once and only one voucher can be used per shopping basket. Vouchers are not transferrable and cannot be exchanged for cash. The discount value of the voucher will be deducted from the total amount in your shopping cart. The remaining balance, if any, must be paid by you.

If you want to return an item bought with the use of a voucher:

If you have redeemed a voucher or discount voucher against a purchase, and you’d like to return all items purchased, African Bean will refund you or credit your account with the rand value of the purchase and re-issue the voucher or discount voucher, with the same associated terms and conditions.

If you have used a voucher or discount voucher against a purchase and then return some of the items purchased, African Bean will recalculate the total value of your purchase AFTER the returned item(s) has/have been deducted. If the recalculated purchase value no longer meets the terms and conditions associated with the voucher, African Bean reserves the right to deduct the value of the voucher off the refund for the returns, or, should you have credit in your African Bean account, to debit the value of the voucher off your account balance.

Promotion vouchers cannot:

1. Be used to buy other vouchers

2. Be exchanged for cash

3. Be transferred to anyone else
